FAQ - Spynex Anti - Theft System

    SUPPORT

    Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about the Spynex system, installation, and using the app.

    GETTING STARTED
What is Spynex, and how does it actually work?
Spynex is a vehicle immobilizer that turns your car's own factory buttons into a pincode. A certified installer wires a hidden module into your vehicle's CAN bus. Without the correct button sequence — or, on the Tag system, a paired Bluetooth Tag nearby — the vehicle stays immobilized.
What's the difference between SPYNEX Pin and SPYNEX Tag?
SPYNEX Pin authorizes the vehicle using only your button-sequence pincode. SPYNEX Tag adds an optional Bluetooth Tag as a second authorization method and includes anti-relay protection against keyless-entry theft. Both models support the Spynex app for changing your pincode, service mode, and arming or disarming the system.
Do I need to carry anything extra to use it?
No — on SPYNEX Pin, your existing factory buttons are the only key. On SPYNEX Tag, the Bluetooth Tag is optional; you can still use the pincode method alone if you'd rather not carry anything.
    COMPATIBILITY & INSTALLATION
Will Spynex work with my vehicle?
Spynex covers roughly 99% of vehicles. Most cars run in full digital mode over the CAN bus. If your vehicle doesn't have existing digital firmware, the system can fall back to hybrid or analog blocking, and our team can build custom firmware for your specific car.
    Can I install it myself?
No — Spynex is installed by certified technicians only. The module wires into your vehicle's digital bus, and improper installation can affect vehicle safety systems. Find a certified installer near you.
Will a mechanic be able to move my car for service?
Yes. The app has a dedicated service mode that lets a mechanic start and move the car without you sharing your pincode or Tag.
    APP & SECURITY
Can I change my pincode later?
Yes, anytime, directly from the Spynex app — no shop visit required.
How does the Bluetooth Tag protect against relay theft?
The Tag has a built-in motion sensor. If it's sitting still — like on a table inside your house — it stops broadcasting a signal entirely. That defeats the most common form of keyless theft, where thieves relay your key's signal from inside your home to your car in the driveway.
What if I lose my phone or the Tag?
Your pincode still works independently of the app or Tag, since it's entered directly on your car's factory buttons. Contact your installer if you need the system reconfigured.
    DEALERS & SUPPORT
